Alone in the Dark
Jeremy Hartwood, the owner of the legendary Louisiana mansion Derceto, has committed suicide. His death appears suspicious yet seems to surprise no-one, for Derceto is widely reputed to be haunted by an evil power. The case is quickly dealt with by the police and soon forgotten by the public. The player assumes the role of a lone investigator who enters the house to learn more about the incident. Soon after you enter Derceto, you are thrown into a nightmare that has been Jeremy's daily life. Hideous hidden monsters around the mansion, creepy catacombs down underneath, shadowy corridors foreshadow a great evil that fills the atmosphere and the very house itself. As either Carnby or Jeremy Hartwood's niece Emily, you must uncover the truth behind Hartwood's mysterious death and survive through the night by any means necessary.

Made Man’ is a third person action adventure that follows Joey Verola as he is indoctrinated into, and progresses through, the hierarchy of the most notorious crime organization in history; the Mafia. The storyline spans three decades of his life, from the horror of Vietnam to the urban jungle of Brooklyn, but it avoids the clichéd chronological constraints of many other games. Made Man has a very strong plot, with the missions written by best selling authority on the Mafia, David Fisher. David’s collaboration with retired Mafia caporigieme Bill Bonanno, a senior member of the Bonanno crime family, has ensured that each career step and mission is based upon authentic Mafia incidents. The involvement of these authorities gives an authenticity to the content of the game and also presents a considerable marketing opportunity.

But just in case you haven't sampled it in any form, it's an 'adult' rock-n-roll love story with a Transylvanian twist, a dash of science fiction and a generous serving of humour. Amongst others it features Frank N Furter, the shocking alien transvestite who inhabits an earthly Transylvanian abode and covets young innocents of the 1950s variety such as Brad and Janet who happen upon his ghastly home one dark night.

Another game based on a film, but The Thing manages to provide a violent diversion that's faithful to John Carpenter's 1982 flick.
Black Label Games' third-person adventure starts where the movie leaves off. A team of American scientists residing in the Antarctic are unwittingly exposed to an alien creature that lives in any living organism. After the creature kills off most of the scientists, the remaining two men decide to blow up the entire camp to keep wipe it out completely. Players take on the role of a specialist Search and Rescue leader who's been sent to uncover the mysterious deaths of the previous US team. Players explore the destroyed station and fend of creatures while facing several dynamics, such as handling the freezing cold and a trust/fear system.
Minimum:
Pentium II 400 MHz, 64 MB RAM, Windows 98/ME/XP, DirectX 8.0, DirectX compliant video card, DirectX compliant sound card, 4x CD-ROM drive, 600 MB hard-disk space

AMERICAN MCGEE'S ALICE
American McGee's Alice is a third-person shooter computer game released on October 6, 2000. It was developed by Rogue Entertainment and published, distributed and marketed by Electronic Arts. It was designed by American McGee, and featured music composed by former Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna. The game is powered by the Quake III engine.
Set years after Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, Alice features an older, more cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice.
Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's parents are killed in a fire of which she is the only survivor. Becoming catatonic after having attempted suicide (as found in the case book), she is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, the White Rabbit summons Alice to aid a radically altered Wonderland, now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts.

You are Lieutenant Ryan, a young officer working for the US Secret Service, assigned to serve with the Royal Navy on the eve of World War II. A powerful European adversary has discovered an ancient threat held trapped inside the ice of the South Pole. Your mission is to prevent the Prisoners of Ice from spreading across the world. And if you fail, the Old Ones will return to Earth. There are some really nice, smooth design elements as well. There is an automatic save feature built into the game, and dang it if that sucker did not come in delightfully handy multiple times for me. It saves just before any critical scenes occur. It also has a satisfying endgame sequence, and two endings, both of which are made available to the player by way of the auto save feature. Additionally, inventory no longer needed is automatically removed.

NIGHTMARE CREATURES
f your computer's got the horsepower to run it at higher resolutions, Nightmare Creatures looks impressive. The huge monsters you have to fight at every bend, ranging from zombies to werewolves to giant beetles, are terrifically detailed, fast, and ferocious. And either of the two tough characters at your command, the staff-wielding priest Ignatius and the young swordswoman Nadia, looks like an even enough match for them. Best of all, though, is the scenery, which really brings nineteenth-century London to life: A lazy fog hangs just above the stone streets; street lamps flicker, casting a calm light on their surroundings; rivers and waterways look placid and the homes lining their banks are quaint and almost inviting. Each of the dozen-odd stages in Nightmare Creatures looks different and feels real.

Crazy Taxi 3 High Roller iSO
Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller for the Xbox has everything from the previous two games. It has the West Coast and Small Apple levels, all the previous two games' cab drivers, the same frantic action, and the minigames from Crazy Taxi 2. It also has a brand-new circuit, the Glitter Oasis (modeled after Las Vegas), four new drivers for that course, and a lot of new minigames. That sounds like a lot of good stuff, but unfortunately, that's about all there is. If you're a huge fan of Crazy Taxi, or if you've never played any of the previous games, you may find a lot to like about Crazy Taxi 3--if nothing else, it's a compilation of the previous two games that improves upon those games' maps and gameplay. However, if you're not a huge fan or a newcomer to the series, you may find that Crazy Taxi 3 doesn't have much more to keep you coming back.

In a not too distant future a top-secret government agency is working to combat a dire threat against humanity. Normal people across the United States have apparently become infected with a strange disease that transforms them into vicious undead creatures with inhuman strength and a taste for the blood of the living.
So far the agency has managed to contain this disease by destroying all their nests that have sprung up across North America until a pattern emerges and points towards the origin of the plague: Paradise City. A decrepit port on the eastern seaboard of the United States; Paradise City is a “free city”, a colorful cesspool of crime and corruption controlled by an alliance of criminal families and street gangs. Most officials and police are deeply corrupt, controlled by the local families. This is the one place where the agency has no power and now the source of the mysterious plague sits somewhere inside the city, out of the agency’s reach.
Powerless to investigate the spread of the infestation inside the city; the Agency is forced to use an undercover agent, a criminal who can operate outside the law and go places where the agents can’t. Now this agent must infiltrate Paradise City by joining the gangs that control the city to find the source of the plague.
